Paddock Wood Primary School

Paddock Wood Primary Academy

An academy of excellence and enjoyment at the heart of its community

On the 26 of November 2016, Paddock Wood School A team participated in E.S.F.A. Kent Football Tournament at Sporting Thamesmead (on the outskirts of London) after winning the West Kent/Hawkenbury Football Tournament, Tunbridge Wells. All of the teams which took part had to play three games in their group. Our school had to play Minster first, Churchill and then, finally, Paddock Wood School managed to win the group stage with 3 wins and progress to the semi-final against a team from Maidstone (Loose).  The semi-final game was a fantastic 2-0 victory. As sweet as a nut! We were all pleased to say that we were in “The Final”. However we weren’t done yet.

The final was quite intense with us scoring first and Danson Primary School scoring second. Suddenly Luca was pushed to the ground… it was a penalty to us! The pressure was on, silence fell throughout the ground...the final kick of the game…Aaron scored (it was mayhem) another 2-1 victory.

All the parents (Mums mainly) were crying with pride. We asked a few of the team mates how they felt. James was quoted as saying “I was AMAZED that we had made it to the final. I am flabbergasted”.

We are now all set for the national finals-to St. George’s (England’s training ground) in May 2017. Thanks to the teams’ hard work, the parents’ support (as well as Mr. B’s shouting) and lucky batman socks!
