Paddock Wood Primary School

A school of excellence and enjoyment at the heart of its community

    Physical Education

Paddock Wood School aims to provide a varied and stimulating Physical Education curriculum as well as promoting healthy physical and social development through the teaching and learning of new skills, team work and cooperation. Children are encouraged to actively participate in many areas of sport with a view to encourage and develop individual and team based skills enabling participants to become more confident in their abilities.

Children at Paddock Wood School are provided with opportunities to also take part in various teams and clubs, ranging from netball to boxing and karate to cross country.

The abilities and achievements the children make throughout the year are also celebrated through the school’s annual Sports Day.

It is considered important that PE is an integral part of a child’s development. Children at Paddock Wood School are expected to participate in PE unless there are valid reasons and when such a case arises a note from parents/guardians is required.

Paddock Wood School has also been a beneficiary of the Primary School PE Funding initiative. The Sports Premium programme has provided schools throughout Britain extra funding for the provision of Physical Education. The money provided has been used to help enhance PE and subsequently have a lasting impact on the health and well being of the children.
